Der in Südafrika geborene Musiker, Daniell Fourie, begann seine musikalischen Studien in den Fächern Klavier und Klarinette an der Universität von Stellenbosch. 2003 beendete er sein Studium mit Auszeichung. Danach zog es ihn als Stipendiat des DAAD an die Musikhochschule Lübeck, wo er seine Studien mit dem künstlerischen Diplom (Klavier) bei Prof. Konrad Elser und Prof. Konstanze Eickhorst abschloß. 2006 erhielt er zudem sein Diplom im Fach Klavierpädagogik bei Prof. Manfred Aust. Während des Studiums arbeitete als Korrepetitor für die Abteilung Opern- und Bühnengesang an der Musikhochschule Lübeck und nahm als Solopianist an Wettbewerben in Deutschland und Italien teil.
Im Zuge der Entdeckung seines Talentes für Gesang, studierte er im Fach des Countertenors bei Marie-Louise Ages und Wilfried Jochens (Musikhochschule Hamburg) und nahm an Meisterklassen von Gert Türk (Scuola Cantorum Basiliensis, Basel), Harry van der Kamp (Musikhochschule Bremen), Christoph Prégardien (Musikhochschule Kölln) und Ashley Stafford (Royal College of Music London) teil. 2007 wirkte er im Mozart Opernprojekt unter der Leitung von Ashley Stafford und Marco Ozbic in Frankreich mit. In 2008 arbeitete er, unter der Leitung von Jean Tubéry, in einem Projekt der Académie baroque européenne d'Ambronay (Frankreich).
Sein Gesangsrepertoire schließt die Werke des Ars Subtilior, der Renaissance, des Frühbarocks und des Hochbarocks ein. Er ist Mitbegründer mehreren Ensembles- u.a. I Sospiranti (Lyon, Frankreich) www.isospiranti.fr (Académie baroque européenne d´ Ambronay) und Cansonare (Lübeck) .
Fouries Interesse für die historische Ausführungspraxis der Tasteninstrumenten führte ihn zu der englischen Virginalmusik und zur Barockharfe. 2014/15 wirkte er als Countertenor und Harfenist mit seinem Ensemble, Cansonare, in zwei Projekten des Lübecker Theaters mit. www.theaterluebeck.de Es folgte die Teilnahme (Solosänger) an mehreren internationalen Festivals wie z.B. Seine Tätigkeit als Klavierbegleiter im Ensemble Seifenoper mit Jana Thomas (Sopran) und Tim Stekkelies (Bariton), führte das Ensemble schon auf Konzertreisen nach Kanada, Südafrika, Großbritannien, Norwegen und in den Ostseeraum. Gemeinsam mit dem Bariton Tim Stekkelies bietet er im Fachbereich Deutsches Kunstlied an der Universität von Stellenbosch (Südafrika) für Gesangsstudenten Meisterkurse an.
Fourie ist seit 2007 Klavierlehrer an der städtischen Musikschule Kiel, sowie an der Musikschule Rosengarten zu Lübeck. Er ist regelmäßig als Juror bei Wettbewerben tätig und veranstaltet mehrmals im Jahr Klassenkonzerte mit seinen Schülern.
The south african musician, Daniell Fourie, started his musical studies at the University of Stellenbosch (piano and clarinet). In 2003 after finishing his Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance with distinction, he continued his studies with Prof. Konrad Elser and Prof. Konstanze Eickhorst at the Musikhochschule Lübeck in Germany. After receiving his Diploma in Piano Performance, he furthered his studies with Prof. Manfred Aust (Piano Pedagogy) and received his Diploma for Piano Pedagogy in 2009. During his studies at the Musikhochschule Lübeck, he worked as an accompanist of the Opera Department. As solo pianist he took part in various piano competitions in Germany and Italy.
His attention was drawn to the subject of historical singing and soon he started singing lessons (Countertenor) with Marie-Louise Ages and Wilfried Jochens, and received masterclasses with Gert Türk, Harry van der Kamp and Christoph Prégardien. He also took lessons in London, Great Britain, with Ashley Stafford (Royal College of Music). In a Mozart Opera Project, Fourie worked under the baton of Marco Ozbic in France and England. In 2008, he participated in the Ambronay Early Music Project, conducted by Jean Tubéry. Vocal concerts in France and Italy followed.
Fouries repertoire embodies works from the Ars Subtilior, Renaissance and Early Baroque Eras. He is co-founder of the following ensembles: I Sospiranti (Lyon, France), and Cansonare (Lübeck).
As a historical music performer (continuo player), Fouries interest for the english virginal soon expanded to the baroque harp. As Harper and Countertenor he was asked in 2014/15 to work as soloist in two Productions at the Lübeck Opera City House as well as taking part as leading singer in numerous international festivals such as Cadaqués International Festival.
Fourie is the piano accompanist of the ensemble Seifenoper (Jana Thomas - Soprano; Tim Stekkelies - Bariton), which includes the following genres: opera, operette as well as the musical genre. The ensemble travels the world with concerts in Canada, South Africa, Great Britain, Norway and the Baltic. As initiator, he conducts courses with the bariton Tim Stekkelies on the subject of the Deutsche Kunstlied at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
